Novorođenačka sepsa ostaje jedan od vodećih uzroka morbiditeta i mortaliteta u neonatalnoj dobi, unatoč značajnom napretku u perinatalnoj skrbi. Streptococcus agalactiae (GBS) i dalje je najčešći uzročnik rane novorođenačke sepse (engl. early-onset sepsis, EOS). Pravodobna identifikacija trudnica koloniziranih GBS-om i adekvatna intrapartalna antibiotska profilaksa (IAP)
ključne su mjere u prevenciji EOS-a. Ovaj članak prikazuje epidemiologiju, čimbenike rizika, preventivne strategije te suvremene pristupe procjeni rizika i zbrinjavanju novorođenčadi majki koloniziranih GBS-om.
