In this study, obesity in children and adolescents is considered from a public health and clinical points of view. Obesity is analyzed as an immediate health problem in children. The indirect effects of excessive body mass on changes in the structure and functions of various organ systems are presented. The possibility of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches is assessed, and guidelines are given for primary, secondary and tertiary prevention of obesity.
